Overview

Fare Share was set up to redistribute surplus food to charities and community groups who could make use of it rather than it going to waste. It is used in many things from lunch clubs to community cafés. We use the fare Share from the Blairgowrie branch of Tescos and from the PKC Food Hub. We also occasionally receive surplus/seconds fruit and veg from local producers depending upon the season.

We are able to make use of it due to the number of avenues it is put to good use such as:

• Restocking the 4 Give and Take Community Larders
• Making up food kits for distribution
• Using the fresh ingredients in the weekly Saturday Lunch Club soup etc
