Jahangir Balti and Tandoori Restaurant

The owners of the Jahangir Balti and Tandoori Restaurant in Blairgowrie have been sharing their recipe for success with the local community. 

The team behind the family-run eatery also own the popular Jahangir restaurant in St Andrews, and saw an opportunity to provide the same high quality, freshly made Indian food to people in Blairgowrie, Rattray and the surrounding area. 

Offering a range of dishes – everything from curries to European meals, with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options - the restaurant is fully licensed, and also caters for takeaways. The food is all cooked to order on the premises using fresh ingredients.  

And as well as the delicious menu of authentic food prepared just as it would be in an Indian household, diners at the Wellmeadow restaurant can expect a warm welcome and excellent customer service from the team at the Jahangir. 

Feroz Mohammad runs the restaurant with his father Wali, a chef with some 30 years’ experience, and a team of more than a dozen staff. 

He said: “We aim to provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for our customers to enjoy the very best Indian cuisine, relax and socialise. 

“We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service - nothing is too much trouble for our staff - and on being part of the local community, without whom we wouldn’t be here. 

“It’s important to us that we have good relationships with our customers so that they keep coming back – we have regulars who visit every week – and encourage their friends to come too. 

“Building connections and relationships with the local community and our customers, and providing the very best food and flavours from the east, is at the heart of everything we do here at Jahangir.”
