Cricket is back in Blairgowrie!
Some 20 or so years after the last bowlers, batsmen and fielders took to the pitches
in Blairgowrie, a group of keen enthusiasts have been working hard behind the
scenes to get the club up and running again to bring cricket back to the largest town
in Perthshire.
Based at JJ Coupar Recreation Park off Coupar Angus Road, Blairgowrie Cricket
Club is an inclusive, social, family-friendly club where everyone is welcome to come
and have a go, stay, chat and enjoy the occasional barbecue.
With help and support from Live Active, local councillors and the JJ Coupar trustees,
the ground is now ready to offer club coaching for five to 12-year-olds.

The junior softball cricket sessions take place on Friday evenings from 6pm to 7pm
and are the perfect introduction to the game for youngsters. Open to all abilities, the
sessions focus on developing skills, teamwork, and most importantly, having fun right
up until the end of summer! There may also be a few friendly games towards the end
of the season.
The club will also offer women’s soft ball, and junior and adults’ hardball, and will be
making the most of the facilities at the new Blairgowrie Recreation Centre for
continuous training while the grass pitch is made playable once again.
Blairgowrie Cricket Club is a great addition to the range of sports and activities that
residents can participate in locally.
