Blairgowrie & Rattray Keeping Warm Surgery

Purpose and Attendees

This is the first in a series of six events taking place across Angus and Perthshire Glens to make local residents aware of the financial and community support available to them this winter. This includes raising awareness of warm spaces in the community, free or low cost home energy improvements, encouraging applications to Pension Credit which unlock numerous benefits including Winter Fuel Payment, raising awareness of local classes and courses on making and repairing clothes, as well as providing information on staying safe when using hot water bottles and electric blankets - and more.

Organisations attending the Blairgowrie event include: the office of John Swinney MSP, local Perth and Kinross councillors, Scarf, Perth and Kinross Council Welfare Rights, Age Scotland, the Department for Work and Pensions, Blairgowrie and Rattray Independent Food Project, Perth and Kinross Citizens Advice Bureau, the Heat Project, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Scottish Power, Culture Perth and Kinross Libraries, Blairgowrie District Community Shed (formerly Strathmore Men's Shed), and Perth and Kinross Foodbank.

Venue and times

The event will be taking place at Blairgowrie Town Hall, 14 Brown Street, Blairgowrie, PH10 6EX. The time and date of the event are

Fri 18th October, 10am-12.30pm.

We are inviting organisations to arrive from 9.30am to allow plenty of time to set up and have a cup of tea/coffee beforehand. Room set up The room will be set up in the form of a fair/marketplace. Each organisation will be allotted a space on a table/stall where they will be able to display any literature (leaflets/roller banners etc) which they may like to bring along.

Parking

Please note most on-street parking within Blairgowrie Town Centre is free but limited to 1 hour. Please check nearby signage when parking. Parking is available at the following locations:

Free street parking on George Street - 2 mins walk from venue Paid parking at Leslie Street Car Park on Croft Lane - 2 mins walk from venue Free parking at Wellmeadow Car Park off Wellmeadow - 7 min walk from venue 

Refreshments

We will be providing light refreshments on the day - tea, coffee, juice and biscuits.
