The Joyful Environmentalist Book Review
Date: Saturday 14 November
Reading “the Joyful Environmentalist” by best-selling author, Isabel Losada is like having a happy conversation with a very well informed friend, while learning all about her solutions for taking care of our planet at this critical time.
She looks at how we live and work, travel, eat, shop, drink, dress, bank and everything we do in a very helpful, thought provoking and positive way. She has written a practical guide book full of stories, facts and interviews, challenging us to live our lives in a less damaging and sustainable way.
It is witty, fun to read, hard to put down – a really lovely book and a total joy.
There are chapters on food, energy, plastic, wine, insects, money, travel, climate change and the bigger picture.
My personal favourites are -
How to buy a Tomato and Other Supply Chain Dilemmas,
Ten New Plastic Products Sold to Us on Social Media This Year
Being a Little Bit Activist
Putting your Money Where Your Values Are
- in fact, all of the chapters!
This gem of a book was recommended to us by our local journalist from her
“Think Green, Be Green” monthly page in the “People’s Friend”. Thanks Marion!
Copies can be ordered from our Blairgowrie bookshop – Adventure Into Books – and a donated copy may still be found in the Environment shelf of Blairgowrie’s “Book Lore” second hand bookshop.
