Talented members of Blairgowrie Lyric Choir presented volunteers at Rattray Community Garden with a donation of £250 recently.
Mary Macdonald and Don Renwick from the local musical group attended an open afternoon at Rattray Community Garden on Saturday, June 22, where they handed over a cheque.
The money was raised at the Lyric Choir’s recent concert and will be put towards supporting the ongoing running costs of the new community space.
Thanking the Lyric Choir for the donation, volunteer Jean Smith said: “We are very grateful to Blairgowrie Lyric Choir for thinking of us and supporting the garden with this very generous donation.
“Since Rattray Community Garden was secured for the community, a team of volunteers has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to develop the site, and this money will go towards our continuing efforts to ensure that it is a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.”
Mary Macdonald commented: “We like to support local groups and organisations and Rattray Community Garden is a very worthwhile initiative.
“It was lovely to be able to visit the garden at the open afternoon and see all the good work that the volunteers have been doing and find out more about their plans for the garden.”
