When I heard about the Bench Trail from Sam Stewart, I thought that this was a great idea and one that I thought that the Rotary Club of Blairgowrie should be involved in, in some way. I also learned that there was to be benches put on the Cateran Trail and this really got my imagination going. I discussed this project with Rotary members about both ideas and it was agreed that after more information, it was something that we could and should support.
It was agreed that the bench dedicated to the Rotary Club of Blairgowrie was to be placed on the hill above Auchinaple Loch in Glenisla. From this site, it is considered by many to be one of the finest viewing points on the Trail and it is a popular walk by many. This means that the Rotary Bench like all of the other benches will be a good talking point and this will be good for us to get the name of Rotary and what we do and can do out there.
